...and so it begins...

No Foolin' on April 1st...

The Spring Blooms continue here at the Arboretum; hard to believe it is already April but here it tis upon us. Crabapple are mostly finished but the Dogwood and Redbud follow and continue into Spring full stride. The Rhodies and their associates begin to awaken and with the current cooler temperatures and lovely rainfall they will slowly begin to do their thing as well.Stay tuned for more of the display...

Offically Spring!

This weekend marked the offical kick off to Spring 2011. The plant world often pays little atention to such deadlines but it seems as though the Crabapple Collection decided it was time to let it rip. Dogwood are slowly begining to show color, Cherry continues to dazzle, Redbud are glorious and the Rhodies are waiting in the wings soon to open and give us a show. Enjoy the new photo additions.

More Magnolias

Magnolia Collection Blooms

Spring Has Sprung!!!

March came in like a Lion here at the Arboretum. Cherry opened at an earlier than usual date. Cornus mas, Hamamelis and Magnolias...oh my. The rapid and daily changing level of blooms and fragrance in the Magnolia Collection is overwhelming at best and saturates all the senses. Enjoy some photos of these beauties.
